Jockey Emmet McNamara discusses balancing the books and riding winners

The 30-year-old has achieved some impressive wins in his career, most notably winning the Epsom Derby on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Serpentine in 2020. As the son of trainer Eric McNamara, racing is in his blood but he also completed a first class honours degree in Accounting & Finance at Griffith College in 2018. We caught up with him to discuss that win, balancing his studies with racing and how he benefited from Horse Racing Ireland’s Education and Training Grant Program.
