The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture will open its latest exhibition, “Spirit in the Dark: Religion in Black Music, Activism, and Popular Culture,” Nov. 18.
WASHINGTON (RNS) The first special exhibition to focus specifically on religion since the museum opened includes photos and artifacts accompanied by quotations of famous African Americans.
The Twin Memorials Working Group is beginning the community-engagement phase of its charge to establish memorials on the Oxford and Atlanta campuses to honor the lives of enslaved individuals who helped build Emory’s original campus and others who have historic ties to the community. Watch for community meetings starting in February.
