Typhoon In-fa Heading For Tokyo Causes Mixed Reactions From Athletes
Meteorologist
Eric Holthaus tweet on Wednesday that it is possible that a typhoon could hit Tokyo within the next few days. According to Holthaus, the typhoon could hit at some point on Sunday, July 25, or Monday, July 26, just a few days after the beginning of the Tokyo 2020 Games.
If the models are right, there could be a typhoon headed for Tokyo on Sunday or Monday.
CNN has echoed Holthaus’ report, noting that as of 6 am EST on Friday, July 23, typhoon In-fa is around 200 miles from Okinawa, a prefecture off the southeast coast of Japan. The storm, however, is currently moving northwest with maximum winds of 95 mph (150kph).
