The Bad Axe City Council has approved three local groups and businesses to sponsor portions of the Bad Axe walking trail.
List Psychological Services, M3 Wireless, and the Bad Axe Rotary Club were announced as sponsors, with List planning on adding flowers and motivational yard signs to its section and M3 having lowering bulbs, chalk drawings, cleaning, and a possible bench to its portion.

The city of Bad Axe has hired a new city manager to replace the outgoing Dale VanDeVuuse next month.
Rob Stiverson, of the Stiverson & Associates surveying firm in Bad Axe, will take on the role starting March 1.
Stiverson said he was interested in the role having worked as a consultant for the city for the past 20 years, and that he had come to appreciate the community and staff he worked with.
“It provides an opportunity to continue to serve the community without the volatility of a COVID economy,” Stiverson said.

BAD AXE The Bad Axe City Council made its next step in its search for a new city manager this week.
The council appointed a four-member committee that will review job applications they receive, conduct job interviews, and make their recommendation for a new city manager.
The committee members are Bad Axe Mayor Kathleen Particka and council members Eric Goebel, Steve Perez, and Nick Rochefort.
Outgoing City Manager Dale VanDeVusse announced his retirement from the role in October, having served the role for the past 11 years. He said the committee would like to find a replacement by the end of March, when he is set to retire, though he mentioned he would be willing to stay on longer to help with the transition process.
