KINGSTON – Controversy over a proposed new Dunkins’ location still hasn’t been settled, but the new town planner has recommended that an expert in traffic engineering take a closer look at plans for the site.
With a peer review by a traffic consultant, the Planning Board hopes to mitigate the concerns of many residents worried about the impact of the proposed fast food restaurant with drive-through at 114R Main St., the former Light & Leisure location in a commercial zone.
Town Planner Valerie Massard said a traffic peer review consultant could give the Planning Board a better understanding of the traffic patterns during high impact hours and what types of mitigation should be considered that could result in conditional approval with added layers of protection.
