On Dec. 3, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters office formally certified the November 2020 election results â confirming wins for newcomer and Blythe City Councilmember-elect Samuel Burton, as well as incumbent and sitting Mayor Dale Reynolds.
The Registrar of Votersâ office met their target date despite concerning COVID positives among staff the previous week.
Candidate Jennifer Morgan Cyr had until Dec. 8 to file a request for recount, which was not filed.
Cyr and Reynolds were in a tight sprint for the second available seat â at one point tied, and exchanged leads throughout the electionâs count â with the latter ultimately finishing 26 votes ahead (1,170 to 1,144).
