A murder suspect is dead following a vehicle chase that ended on I-10 eastbound in Biloxi this afternoon with multiple law enforcement agencies taking part in the pursuit.
Around 11:30 this morning, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana responded to the scene of a double murder in the city of Baker, which marked the beginning of a hunt that eventually ended on I-10 in South Mississippi.

Officials say 30-year-old Eric Derrell Smith entered a residence and fatally shot his ex-girlfriend Christin Parker and her nephew, Brandon Parker.
An eyewitness described the scene. “Jeannette had came to my house looking for help. The guy she said that she heard two gunshots and that they shot her mom”

A baby died on Tuesday after his father, who was accused of murdering two people, was shot and killed by police in a chase with the infant the day before.
Eric Derrell Smith, 30, was killed on Monday by police after a chase on I-10 in Biloxi, Mississippi. His 4-month-old baby was in the car at the time officers opened fire, according to WLOX. The baby, La’Mello Parker, died early Tuesday morning. The cause of the infant s death is unclear.
According to preliminary reports, Smith was exchanging gunfire with officers and allegedly used the baby as a shield to keep himself safe, WBRZ reported.
