IOWA CITY, Iowa For the second week in a row, University of Iowa senior Spencer Lee has been named Big Ten Co-Wrestler of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Lee shares the award with Wisconsin’ Eric Barnette.
Lee, ranked No. 1 at 125 pounds, pinned No. 9 Mitch McKee of Minnesota in one minute, 53 seconds, to lead No. 1 Iowa to a 35-4 win over the No. 15 Gophers on Jan. 22. Lee led 14-0 before securing the fall, registering a takedown 31 seconds into the match and piling up 12 nearfall poins. The first-period fall was his second this season and 18th of his career.
