The Bono Regional Police Command has released the body of a 48-year-old charcoal burner, Abu Bukari Bahala, who was allegedly killed and secretly buried by three police officers at Seikwa in the Tain District for re-burial in Sunyani.
The body was released to family members at the Sunyani Regional Hospital after an autopsy was conducted by a Senior Specialist Pathologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr. Ernest K. Adjei, on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
The pathologist described the death as unnatural, as Bahala died due to a chest injury and blunt trauma to the chest.
The deceased was said to have smashed the car windscreen of the Manager of the Nkoranman Rural Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Ofori, as a result of which he was beaten to death. The registration number of the vehicle is AS 2000- X.

3 policemen, others in Seikwa killing remanded

Three policemen allegedly involved in the beatings and killing of a suspect at the Seikwa Police Station in the Bono Region last week were yesterday remanded in police custody by the Sunyani Circuit Court B to prevent them from interfering with ongoing investigations into the matter.
The court, presided by Jojo Amoah Hagan, also remanded three other suspects.
All six, preliminarily charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder, are to reappear in court on May 11, this year.
They are Chief Inspector Eric Aforo, General Corporal William Akussung and General Constable Ebenezer Akuffo, all stationed at the Seikwa Police Command; Mr Ofori Emmanuel Kingsford, branch manager of Nafana Rural bank, Aaron Abbey and Reuben Obeng w their accomplices.

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted three policemen for their alleged involvement in the death and secret burial of a 48-year-old man, Abu Bukari Bahala, at Seikwa in the Tain District in the Bono Region.
In addition, the Bono Regional Police Command is currently searching for a man identified as the Akyeamehene of the Seikwa Traditional Area, Opanin Asuman, who is suspected to have assisted the policemen to bury Bahala.
The three policemen, all stationed at the Seikwa Police Station, are Chief Inspector Eric Aforo, General Corporal William Apussungi and General Constable Ebenezer Akuffo.
According to the police, they had been interdicted following ongoing investigations into the unfortunate incident.
