NEW YORK More than half of the gas stations in some areas of the U.S. southeast remained without fuel and prices at the pump were at seven-year highs on Monday, even as the flow on the nation’s largest fuel pipeline resumed after a cyber attack resulted in a six-day system outage and mass panic-buying.
Last week’s closure of Colonial Pipeline’s 5,500-mile (8,900-km) system was the most disruptive cyberattack on record, preventing millions of barrels of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel from flowing to the East Coast from the Gulf Coast.
