The total volumes of freight transport through the port reached about 2.58 million tonnes during the period, with export volume registering a year-on-year growth of 78.5 percent to 333,000 tonnes. The port s major export products include fruits, daily necessities and electronic products, and the major import products are rapeseed, meat and coal, said Wang Maili, an official with the customs.

The 317 trains carried 32,344 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of goods, up 66.84 percent year on year, according to the Erenhot Customs. The overall volume of goods transported by the freight trains via the port during the period edged up 73.52 percent year on year to 268,800 tonnes, with the import and export values exceeding 4.35 billion yuan (about 673 million U.S. dollars).

The total fruit and vegetable exports through the port reached 97,000 tonnes, with the trade volume reaching 120 million yuan (about 18.58 million U.S. dollars) last year, up 5.7 percent and 12.4 percent year on year, respectively.
