Scottsdale Court Hides Baked Alaska Files After Spam Attack

Gionet is currently facing misdemeanor assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing charges in the court after he pepper-sprayed a bouncer in December. The case earned renewed attention this month after he participated in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, joining the mob who invaded Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi s office. Both incidents were well-documented on video, which is unsurprising because Gionet has sought to earn a living by sharing interactive live video of his exploits, known as livestreams. After being banned from most social media platforms, Gionet still attracts a fan base drawn by his promotion of alt-right ideology and his confrontational content. He marched with white supremacists at Charlottesville and hung out with neo-Nazi blogger Andrew Anglin. The Scottsdale bouncer was only the latest person he s maced.

Week in COVID: A Year After First Case, COVID-19 Is State s Leading Killer

It s Tuesday, January 26. More than 732,600 Arizonans have contracted COVID-19 and more than 12,440 have died as a result. Here s what happened in the last week: Arizona is averaging 6,700 cases of COVID-19 each day. The number of new cases each day is still decreasing slightly, but not as quickly as last week. Experts describe the situation as more of a plateau than a sustained decrease. The number of people being infected with COVID-19 still remains much worse than over the summer. An average of 3,844 people were infected each day at the peak of that surge. Arizona led the country for the number of COVID-19 cases by population in the last week. The state averaged 95.6 cases per 100,000 people in the last seven days, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. The next worst state, South Carolina, averaged 83.6 cases per 100,000 people. Oregon did the best in the continental United States, with an average of 16.8 cases per 100,000 people.

This Week in COVID: Arizona Jab Eligibility a Mess, Cases Numbers Dip

It s Wednesday, January 20. More than 685,600 Arizonans have contracted COVID-19 and more than 11,260 have died as a result. Here s what s happened in the last week: Arizona is averaging 7,086 cases of COVID-19 each day. The average number of daily new cases has dropped in the last week, but is still higher than it was at the beginning of the year when the state was averaging 6,190 cases a day. Hospital capacity is seeing similar trends. Statewide, 55 percent of inpatient beds are in use by COVID-19 patients, as are 61 percent of intensive-care beds. While that represents a drop of around five percentage points each since usage peaked a week ago, only 8 percent of total beds in either category are available statewide. This is well below the 20 percent safety margin of available beds that experts say is needed to enable regular hospital functioning and is no different from to the crisis situation hospitals have been in for weeks. More than 790 Arizonans are still on ventilators an

Scottsdale Looks at Limiting Night Scooting in Old Town

The crackdown comes after a city report found that 86 of the 138 scooter-related medical incidents the Scottsdale Fire Department responded to in 2019 occurred inside the one-mile-square safety zone bordered by Camelback Road to the north, Miller Road to the east, Osborn Road to the south, and 68th Street to the west. The report also found that only around 12 percent of rides occurred during those hours, but nearly a quarter of scooter emergencies did. Unsurprisingly, HonorHealth, which operates the local emergency room, reported that 66 of the 112 patients it saw due to scooter trauma incidents involved alcohol. More than 60 percent of the patients were men and the average age was 24, although one was 66 years old.
