Superior Schools Adopt Racial Educational Equity Statement
The Superior School Board approved the Racial Educational Equity Statement this week.
District Administrator Amy Starzecki says that As I stated this past summer, the School District of Superior has a responsibility to create a sense of urgency and accountability for addressing a system that historically has not supported all citizens. Change starts with our children. Change starts with education.
To enact that change the district created an Equity & Social Justice Leadership Team comprised of teachers, parents, community members, and administrators. Their first goal was to create the Racial Educational Equity Statement, which serves the objective of communicating the district s commitment to equity.
