STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. There is no immediate plan to prioritize vaccinations for the South Shore of Staten Island, despite high coronavirus (COVID-19) positivity rates that have drawn regular criticism from the city and state.
Mayor Bill de Blasio’s current approach, instead, is to focus on parts of the city that are historically underserved and are plagued by long-term health inequities, making them particularly hard-hit during the pandemic’s darkest days in the spring.
Along with his office’s Taskforce for Racial Inclusion and Equity Priority Neighborhoods, the mayor launched the Vaccine for All campaign, identifying the 27 neighborhoods that will be prioritized for vaccine distribution.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A vaccine command center will be set up Monday at 253 Broadway, across from City Hall, to track everything vaccine-related, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Friday.
The vaccine command center will work with every part of the city’s government, including NYCHA, the Department of Education, Health + Hospitals, and other city agencies.
