A GRATEFUL dad whose son was born with a life-threatening condition is raising money for the charity helped him stay close as the tot recovered from surgery. Chris Gallavin and his partner Bonnie welcomed little Luca into the world on October 6 at the Great Western Hospital. But two days later they learned he was seriously ill - his esophagus was detached from his stomach. He had to be rushed to St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol for an operation. “It was so scary, my head was all over the place when we were told what was wrong. We were on the maternity ward and because of Covid I wasn’t allowed to go down with them when they went to check him,” Chris said.
