ELKTON â A Delaware man is facing drug and gun charges after a patrol trooper spotted baggies containing suspect cocaine â lying in plain view inside a vehicle â during a traffic stop near Elkton over the weekend, according to the Maryland State Police.
Investigators identified the suspect as Avery Matthew Glover, 30, of Newark, Del.
MSP Trooper Luke Rafer, who is assigned to the agencyâs North East Barrack, stopped a Kia driven by Glover â the sole occupant â at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Saturday on Ephrata Avenue, after noticing an alleged equipment violation on the suspect vehicle while patrolling on nearby Route 40, police reported.

On May 1, 2021 at about 1:20 AM, a trooper from the Maryland State Police North East Barrack was on patrol on US 40/Pulaski Highway in the area of Ephrata Avenue in Elkton, Maryland. At that time the trooper stopped a white Kia four-door sedan for an equipment violation. Upon contacting the operator of the Kia, who was the only occupant and later identified as Avery Glover 31 y.o. of Newark Delaware, the trooper could see in plain view clear baggies of what appeared to be a white powdery substance.
