Feeding Namibia: Uundenge unlocks urban-fringe farming potential
Uundenge Agri Farm is one of the few social development initiatives that aims to alleviate poverty and contribute to food security in the country.
Established by local businessman Laban Kandume and Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) secretary Ephraim Nekongo last year, the project was founded to solve boost the local economy. “This project also intends to provide a sustainable solution to low agricultural production and food insecurity in the country,” explained Nekongo.
Nekongo, who also owns several horticulture projects in the northern part of the country, said Uundenge Agri Farm targets the problem of expenses the government spends on food imports from other countries.

The Otjozondjupa police has linked a Zimbabwean man who died in a head-on collision on Tuesday to the murder of a woman and her child - whose bodies were found a few kilometres down the same road.
The 50-year-old deceased, identified as Bright Ndera, is suspected to have been fleeing after murdering 32-year-old Clodin Mutsvairo and seven-month-old Mercy Hope Ndera when the crash claimed his life.
