Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has moved to cancel at least 79 land tiles identified in the Central Forest Reserves across the country.
In the notice issued on Tuesday, the ministry summoned registered proprietors of the titles for a hearing aimed at amending the register book citing provisions of Section 91 of the Land Act.

Four administrators of King’s Primary School at Kabowa in Rubaga Division and two police officers were yesterday detained to help in the investigations into the death of a 13-year-old pupil.
It is alleged that on December 9, Primary Seven pupil Atiel Beny Bol collapsed and died after she was beaten by her science teacher for failing a test.
Those arrested include the school director, Mr Joseph Kiggundu, an administrator and two teachers who were at the school at the time of incident.

Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Stephen Kaziimba has told Ugandans to desist from violence during elections, saying politicians are not worth dying for.
“Politicians cannot die for the sins of the world. So do not put your life on the line for them. Only Jesus died for the sins of the world.
Only Jesus is worth following to the point of death,” Archbishop Kaziimba said yesterday while delivering a Christmas message from Namirembe Provincial offices in Kampala.

Government has announced plans to regulate the recruitment, employment and working conditions of domestic workers in a move to protect them from exploitation and abuses.
Dubbed “Employment (Domestic Workers) Regulations 2020 the guidelines seek to control the relationship between workers and employers to enhance labour standards and productivity among domestic workers.
“For safety and security reasons, eligible domestic workers will be expected to identify themselves by scanning the national identity cards or passports or any relevant identification document, including letters from the chairperson,” reads the draft regulation.
