Enyobeni Tavern’s final toxicology results into the cause of death of 21 youngsters in Scenery Park on June 26 have been received by Eastern Cape authorities from a Cape Town laboratory. The results, according to premier Oscar Mabuyane, arrived on Wednesday, the day the families wrote to Eastern Cape authorities demanding time frames on the final toxicology results.
The three men accused of stealing from the dead Enyobeni tavern tragedy victims have defended themselves, claiming that they didn’t steal from the 21 victims, but instead picked up the items including clothes, weaves and shoes from the floor. This despite the court on Monday hearing that the bodies of the young people aged from 13 to 21 had been stripped of their clothes as they lay on the floor and tables of the tavern in Scenery Park in June.
Following the recent deaths of 21 children at Enyonbeni Tavern in Scenery Park, drinking holes across the city with raided by officials over the weekend, with illegal outlets closed and others issued with notices for failing to adhere to regulations.
