For the fourth year of collaboration, Caran d’Ache and Nespresso go a step further into Swissness by revealing a collection of two new writing instruments made from recycled Nespresso capsules, coffee grounds, and pencils of Swiss wood. When passion and sustainability meet, everything is possible.
When Design aligns with Environment
Driven by shared values of innovation, excellence and environmental protection, Nespresso and Caran d’Ache are joining forces to create two writing instruments that carry outstanding elements of design and recycling. Together, they designed the first Fixpencil made from the aluminium of recycled Nespresso capsules, with a lead made from recycled coffee grounds. A set of three graphite pencils in Swiss wood and leads composed of coffee grounds completes this exclusive collection combining audacity, elegance, and eco-responsibility.

Spiral celebrates Japanese Spring Festival
SOFITEL Philippine Plaza’s Spiral welcomes the bloom of Spring in the Land of the Rising Sun with a series of gastronomic engagements that will immerse connoisseurs in the rich history and traditions of Japanese cuisine. Throughout March, Spiral features Japanese master chef Masahiro Mizumoto as he prepares bespoke menus for an exclusive sake dinner, sake and cheese masterclass, and Japanese cooking class. Mr. Mizumoto brings more than 35 years of culinary experience which he gained from working in Japanese fine dining restaurants in his hometown Fukuoka. Now Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s resident Japanese master artisan, he heads Spiral’s Japanese atelier and curates the Japanese menu for hotel banquets and events. Nespresso launches newest Lungo line with World Explorations
If it were up to life, I would have long been weaned off coffee, but then my life is up to me, so I could say I’ve been weaned off bad coffee, or cheap coffee, especially those three-in-ones. I have a bad case of hyperacidity, not as bad as some other cases I know, but it really gets bad, triggered by drinking coffee on an empty stomach, such as in the morning, which is the best time to have coffee, or if the coffee is of questionable origins.
