Council received an update on the City of Timmins’ energy and sustainability programs during its April 27 meeting.
Parking islands on the agenda
Under notice of motions, Ward 5 Coun. Cory Robin requested the possible removal of the parking islands (flower beds) in downtown Timmins be added to the agenda for the next council meeting, on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

“There is an appetite to see them gone,” he said.
“There have been many comments and I would like to have that discussion, to see if it is worth removing them, as opposed to refurbishing them.”
City appoints enforcement officers
City council has passed a resolution appointing Martin Piel and Theresa Matte as municipal law enforcement officers for the purpose of enforcing the municipality’s animal control bylaw.
