Cape Cod Times BARNSTABLE – Town officials fired back at the Conservation Law Foundation for a lawsuit filed late Tuesday over the specificity of the town s wastewater plan and permitting for its municipal wastewater treatment plant. The lawsuit claims that the town s wastewater plan lacked specificity in key areas, and that the plant was polluting Lewis Bay and needed a stronger federal permit. “A lot of the things they are saying are baseless,” Department of Public Works Director Daniel Santos said Thursday. Santos said development of Barnstable’s comprehensive wastewater treatment plan has been a primary focus for himself, his department and the town for the past six years. The estimated $1.4 billion plan will be phased in over 30 years.
