Barnstable County Fairgrounds will open as a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Wednesday, February 3, by appointment only. Appointments at the clinic are fully booked for all 600 doses it has received of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine doses will go to those who got appointments on the state’s registration platform, PrepMod, when it debuted on the site earlier this week. Town and county officials collaborated over the month of January to prepare a vaccine clinic at the fairgrounds capable of administering up to 500 vaccine doses per day. Barnstable County, which orders vaccines for the fairgrounds site, expects to receive a second order to administer the week beginning Monday, February 8.
