Enugu Carnival 2020: State Government takes measures against COVID-19

As the Enugu State Carnival 2020, commences today, Sunday, the Enugu State Ministry of Health, the State COVID-19 Emergency Committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo and the Governor’s Task Force on COVID-19 containment have directed that entry into the venue must be with a face mask.
This is part of preventive measures against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Announcing the decision, after the Deputy Governor, Hon. Mrs. Ezeilo, led a joint team of the Committees and State Ministry of Health on inspection tour of the venue on Sunday morning, ahead of the event, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi, disclosed that

As part of preventive measures against Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), during the Enugu State Carnival 2020, which commences on Sunday evening, with praise and worship session, the Enugu State Ministry of Health, the State COVID-19 Emergency Committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo and the Governor s Task Force on COVID-19 Containment have directed that entry into the venue of the soul-lifting event must be with a face mask.
Announcing the decision, after the Deputy Governor, Hon. Mrs. Ezeilo, led a joint team of the Committees and State Ministry of Health on inspection tour of the venue on Sunday morning, ahead of the event, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi, disclosed that nurses will use hand-held thermometers to monitor for high body temperature at the entrance adding that hand wash stations will line the entrance and be at strategic points at the venue and people will be encouraged to use them

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, on Monday, reiterated that quality, accessible and affordable healthcare delivery to the people of the state will remain at the front burner of his administration’s eight point agenda.
Gov. Ugwuanyi restated this when he flagged off the distribution of medical commodities received from the pet-project of the First Lady of Enugu State, Mrs. Monica Ugochi Ugwuanyi, Ugo’s Touch of Life Foundation (U-TOLF), for the good health of the mothers and children in the state.
The commodities were donated to U-TOLF by the Vitamin Angles to provide succor to vulnerable pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under five years, especially those who are at risk of malnutrition and do not have access to national health services.
