Gunmen, on Tuesday, abducted a couple and their daughter on the Enugu-Agidi-Nawgu Road in the Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The President-General of the Enugu-Agidi community, Ndubuisi Obijiofor, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
He said the victims were marched into the bush after their abductors had fired gunshots.
Obijiofor said he had contacted the police, who had in turn swung into action to rescue the victims.
He said the woman and her daughter were released around 3am on Wednesday, while the man was still in captivity.
Obijiofor stated, “This is the second time gunmen are abducting road users here this year, and the fourth time in two years.
