Three other officers were also wounded yesterday in that same incident. This happened less than a mile from police headquarters. Authorities have identified the gunman as gavin eugene long. He is a former marine who police say carried out the attack on his 29th birthday. He was later killed in a gunfight with police. The motive is still unclear, but investigators say they believe he acted alone. We believe that the person that shot and killed our officers, that he is a person that was shot and killed at the scene. So thats what we know right now.
