Advisor Baseer Khan chairs 105th BoDs meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board

  SRINAGAR : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired the 105th Board of Directors meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (JK-KVIB) at Sanat Ghar Bemina. Vice Chairperson, JKKVIB, Dr Hina Bhat; Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Secretary in Rural Development Department Ms. Rifat Arif, Director Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir, Registrar Cooperatives, Director Industries & Commerce Jammu, Director Industries & Commerce Kashmir, Director MSME and Secretary KVIB participated in the meeting. The Advisor directed the Board to extend hand holding to the educated unemployed youth of the UT, so that they can avail benefits from various schemes being implemented under the purview of Khadi and Village Industries sector.

Singh on Monday said the new agriculture laws will help farmers to increase their income in a big way. Singh s statement comes amidst several farmers protesting on Delhi s borders since November seeking repeal of three new farm laws. Addressing the annual Five-day National Horticulture Fair 2021 organised by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru virtually, Singh said that by eliminating middlemen, farmers will receive a larger share of profit for their produce. These laws have great potential for horticulture crop diversification and farmers are going to realise a better price in the future, he contended
