Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a new collaboration with the University at Albany Thursday to create a state-of-the-art center to better track extreme weather events and share data in order to make weather-related emergency decisions.
The governor described it as a unique collaboration between university researchers and state emergency managers aimed at helping local public officials in severe weather events.
