Rose Cup races will return in July March 16 2021 The return of the annual race series is one of the first local sports events to come back. Following an unprecedented one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Portland s Friends of PIR have announced that the city s signature auto racing event will return this summer to celebrate 60 years of competition. The organization said the 2021 Rose Cup Races will take place July 9 to 11 at Portland International Raceway. According to the announcement, auto enthusiasts and their friends and family will enjoy seven different race groups including a return of Go-Karts as well as special salutes to the cars, drivers and stories compiled since 1961.

Lake Oswego Police have identified a suspect in an armed robbery that took place Sunday, Feb. 7, at a home in the Mountain Park area. According to police, the incident took place at 1:50 a.m. and the suspect 27-year-old Jose Yoel Bahena-Quevedo is considered to be armed and dangerous. He currently has outstanding arrest warrants for first-degree robbery, menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person. Police said Bahena-Quevado was last seen driving in a tan 2004 Nissan Altima, bearing Oregon license CL65468. He is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

One dead in Highway 219 crash February 10 2021 An Aurora man involved in a collision left a Dayton woman dead, and a passenger hospitalized Tuesday evening. A Dayton woman died in a two-vehicle collision that involved an Aurora man Tuesday evening on Highway 219 near milepost 22. According to Oregon State Police, Alexander Lewis, 20, of Aurora, was traveling southbound when he moved into the northbound lane to pass a tow truck hooking up a trailer on the southbound shoulder. Lewis Nissan Frontier collided with a northbound Kia operated by Erika Wanmer, 22, of Dayton. Wanmer sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. A passenger in the Kia was transported by air to Legacy Emanuel. Lewis was transported by ambulance to OHSU.
