THE transforming £4.7 million restoration of Skipton Town Hall is well underway with the new ‘cultural hub’ on track to re-open in the spring. Work on the restoration and redeveloment of the town hall by Craven District Council, which itself has invested £3 million of tax payers money into the project, started at the end of 2018 and was originally expected to take 18 months, but unexpected issues and the coronavirus put an extra several months onto the project. However, the council says work is now firmly on track and is confident the new cultural hub for the whole of Craven will reopen in the spring.
