The Indian market managed to close in the green in a highly volatile session today. Sensex rose 54 points to 59,085 and Nifty ended 30 pts higher at 17,607. Of 30 Sensex stocks, 15 ended in the green today. IndusInd Bank, NTPC, L&T, ICICI Bank and PowerGrid were the top Sensex gainers, rising up to 2.86 per cent. Tata Steel, TCS, Titan and Sun Pharma were the top Sensex losers, falling up to 0.93 per cent. Mid-cap and small-cap indices on BSE gained 199 points and 203 points, respectively.
Shares of IndusInd Bank were the top Sensex gainers today after international brokerage Jefferies said it saw a 23 per cent upside in the stock from the current market price. Jefferies has assigned a target price of Rs 1,330 for the shares of the private sector lender. IndusInd Bank stock gained 2.49 per cent intraday to Rs 1,097.6 against the previous close of Rs 1,070.95 on BSE. IndusInd Bank shares were trading higher than 5 day, 20 day, 50 day, 100 day and 200 day moving averages.
Sensex climbed 37.87 pts to 60,298 and Nifty gained 12 pts to 17,956. Of 30 Sensex stocks, 15 ended in the green today. Kotak Bank, L&T and Bharti Airtel were the top Sensex gainers, rising up to 3.75 per cent.
Shares of NTPC were the top Sensex gainers today amid reports that the state-owned power giant has floated a tender to raise Rs 5,000-crore term loan from financial institutions. NTPC stock rose 2.55 per cent to Rs 162.55 against the previous close of Rs 158.50 on BSE.
