Opinion/Cotter: An antique radio brings voices from the past

The coronavirus epidemic has made old technologies new again. Theaters like Trinity Rep and the Williamstown Theater Festival have revived the radio play, using podcasts, Zoom and Audible to reach their audiences.
All of this brings to mind a curious episode in my youth.
One day my father brought home an antique radio. It was built into a large wooden console bigger than our television.
Where he got it I don t remember, but from the moment the radio appeared in our living room it became an object of fascination.
