The temperature of 90 degrees with its high humidity showed no signs of discouraging attendance for the crowd that filled the home and band stands May 28 at Kelly Memorial Stadium for the evening graduation of the Class of 2021 for Screven County High School.
The hundreds were able in its entirety to congratulate this year’s graduates. Last year with the pandemic bearing down on the local community, the grad ceremony was of a drive-through style.
But this group with its 117 graduates – including 27 being with honors – had their names announced as they received their diplomas at mid-field from Superintendent Dr. Jim Thompson and SCHS Principal Brian Scott.
