Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs thrashed basement side Young Redbull 4-1 to keep the pressure on New Edubiase United in Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League.
Dwarfs humiliate Olympics
Accra Great Olympics dropped to third position on the league log after suffering a 4-1 drubbing in the hands of Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Dwarfs went on the rampage as the mostly composed and compact Olympics team fell apart defensively, allowing the homeside a field day.
Defender Simon Martey, Elliah Kofi Jnr, Michael Asamoah and substitute Enoch Afram registered the goals for the ‘Abontua Abontua’ boys before Olympics captain Gladson Awako saved the bruises of his team with a late consolation goal.
Martey opened the floodgates in the 26th minute when he curled home a shot on the edge of the visitors’ goal area after receiving a pass from the impressive Elliah Kofi Jnr.
Medeama, Dwarfs beat Kotoko & Oly; as Hearts, Karela share spoils
Medeama SC and Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs wrecked havoc on Saturday to temporarily end the dominance of Kotoko and Great Olympics at the top of the league log.
Whilst Kotoko was looking forward to maintaining their stay at the top with a win over Medeama, Olympics prayed for Kotoko’s downfall in order to do an overtaking to the top.
But on the day, both Kotoko and Great Olympics lost their respective matches which affected their positions on the league table.
Hearts salvage draw
It was Medeama who pressed the destruct button against Kotoko at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, earlier in the day, when they consigned Kotoko to a painful 1-2 defeat.
