Apr. 27 Four Triangle schools were ranked both among the best high schools in the nation and in the Raleigh and Durham-Chapel Hill metro areas by U.S. News & World Report. Raleigh Charter High, Wake STEM Early College, Woods Charter School and East Chapel Hill High all ranked in the top 500 in the U.S. News 2021 Best High Schools List released early Tuesday. Raleigh Charter and Wake STEM were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the Raleigh metropolitan area. Woods Charter and East Chapel Hill were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the Durham-Chapel Hill metro area.

Altogether, Reagan Razon and Ricardo R. Razon IV earned more than $1.536 million in non-need, merit-based scholarship offers from six institutions of higher learning. The siblings, who attend Enloe High School, were accepted to 15 colleges that offered college acceptance or scholarships.

Photos: Rhett Butler     I honestly was all over the place depending on which TV show I was watching at the time, said Lutete, thinking about her childhood dreams.     Her father, however, was steering her toward medicine. As a young teenager, you don t want people to push you. My response was always, No, you don t know me, I know myself. I know that s not what I want to do.     However, while Lutete was a student at Enloe High School in Raleigh, her father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. That experience and watching how her father s surgeon, nurses and others cared for him, as well as her mother, who drove back and forth daily from her job in Raleigh to the hospital in Chapel Hill with children to care for at home brought clarity.
