Nasiru Kachalla, the leader of the gang that killed a Catholic seminarian Michael Nnadi and wife of a medical doctor, Mrs Ataga in February, has been shot dead in a clash between his group and a rival gang in Kaduna state.
A statement on Monday by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan quoted security agencies as confirming the killing of Kachalla.
Kachalla was said to be on the run for masterminding several criminal acts, including the kidnapping and killing of a Catholic seminarian.
He was said to have been killed during the clash at a forest around the boundaries of Kajuru-Chikun Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. The clash was said to have happened as a result of a dispute over a large herd of rustled cattle.

Kachalla had been on the run for masterminding several criminal acts, including kidnappings, killings, cattle rustling, and banditry in parts of the state.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed this in a statement on Monday.
He said human intelligence networks reported that criminals from the rival sides were also killed, including some of Kachalla’s lieutenants.
Aruwan disclosed that the clash occurred in a forest around the boundaries of Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas.

A notorious bandit, Nasiru Kachalla, has been killed in a gun battle with rival groups in their hideout in Kaduna.
The confirmation of his death was contained in an update on the security situation of the state issued by the state cCommissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs on Monday.
According to the report, the deceased who has been on the run for masterminding several criminal acts, including kidnappings, killings, cattle rustling and banditry, was killed in a clash between his gang and a rival group of bandits.

Disagreement amongst bandits over large herds of rustled cows has led the killing of a notorious terrorist, Nasiru Kachalla and his colleagues.
