WOODSIDE, Calif. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met Wednesday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperative conference, reaching agreements in several key areas.
President Joe Biden is welcoming leaders gathered for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperative conference by noting that San Francisco is where “America reaches out all across the Pacific” and “a place where many left their hearts.” The president was introduced Wednesday night by Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr and followed a brief speech by California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Biden referenced Newsom's future presidential aspirations by joking that the governor could do anything, including having “the job I’m looking for.” The reception came after Biden met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and reached agreements with him on a number of key issues, including curbing fentanyl production.
