The Ksh3.7 billion project which is being undertaken by the transport agency is expected to open up the western region. Already, a majority of the track has been redone with the stations in Nakuru and Kisumu at different levels of completion. KDF Soldiers Deployed for JKIA Renovations [PHOTOS] Terminal 1 A of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) File KAA The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have in the past few weeks been taking part in the renovation at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi. Through the Engineers Brigade’ in the Water Drilling Squadron (WDS), the soldiers drilled four boreholes for the international airport to improve water supply for the increasing operations. The team has also rehabilitated two pre-existing boreholes that were initially unserviceable as part of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities by KDF. KDF carries out major facelift for 31 public schools in its barracks

[Courtesy] The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has renovated 31 schools located within several military barracks in the country. The KDF-sponsored public schools cut across ECDE, primary and secondary levels. The closure of schools countrywide as a result of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 provided an opportunity for the institutions to receive major facelift ahead of their reopening last month.  Some of the renovated schools include Moi Forces Academies located in Nairobi, Lanet and Mombasa; Isiolo Barracks primary and secondary schools; Nanyuki Garrison Barracks primary and secondary schools; Laikipia Air Base ECDE, primary and Secondary Schools; Koelel High School, Moi Barracks primary and secondary schools; Thika Garrison primary and secondary schools, among others.
