Editor s Note: This is the third in a series of three opinion columns about Caddo Middle Magnet s sibling policy. About a year ago, I began what was to be a three-part series on how the unfairness of Caddo Middle Magnet’s (CMM) sibling policy results in white kids with lower scores getting admitted to magnet schools over Black and white kids with higher scores. Part 1 addressed how CMM was created for the express purpose of integrating and enhancing the quality of education for local students while redressing Caddo Parish’s racist Jim Crow era school policies. Part 2 demonstrated how that mission has been abandoned as evidenced by CMM now largely educating white students, even though the school district is roughly 70% Black.
