Chad Engel Visser, 44, faces two charges of second degree theft.
At 1:40 p.m. on November 4th, officers responded to the report of a vehicle theft in the 300 block of East Robinson Street, where a GMC Envoy was reported as missing. The vehicle was found later that afternoon abandoned in the 500 block of Highway 14, just north of the mile-long bridge. A witness described a man removing a green tote from the Envoy and placing it into a tan Chevy Trailblazer.
At 9:25 that evening, officers responded to a vehicle theft report at the Knoxville Walmart parking lot. An officer spoke to a juvenile female, who reported that her Pontiac Grand Prix had been stolen within the last 10 minutes. The officer viewed security camera footage and viewed a male exit the same Trailblazer identified earlier in the day and steal the victim’s vehicle.
