The Mamata Banerjee-led party swept the polls but there is little room for complacency. Though the Congress-Left and ISF fared well the BJP holds an edge.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said 133 people from West Bengal have taken shelter in the state, fearing for their lives because of the poll violence back home.
The day also saw instances of booth capturing, damaging of ballot boxes and assault of presiding officers being reported from several districts such as Murshidabad, Cooch Behar, Malda, South 24 Parganas, North Dinajpur and Nadia.
