Seminoles Drop Game One of WCWS Championship Series

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The third-seeded Florida State softball team (58-10) fell 5-0 in the first game of the Women’s College World Series Championship Series to first-seeded Oklahoma (60-1) at OGE Energy Field. The night began with an hour-long weather delay before the game got underway. Four outs were recorded before another weather delay ensued and forty minutes later the game resumed once more.  Mack Leonard took the start in the circle and in only her second start at the Women’s College World Series kept the OU lineup scoreless through the opening three innings. She sent two batters down swinging and retired four-straight batters on two separate occasions before finishing her outing. The Florida State offense was unable to capitalize on Michaela Edenfield’s single in the third along with leaving runners in scoring position in the fourth. They ended the night with just two hits and gave up five runs after the third inning. The Seminoles now look to tie the series and force
