With that, mr. Chairman. Actually that process that youre describing used to be used by the department of where manufacturers wouldan opportunity to test a product under a new standard or to even employ a new Test Procedure before you could determine whether a standard was appropriate. But what weve seen in the last several years is because so many rulemakings are going on at the same time, that d. O. E. Has not been able to go through this very thorough process of lets do a Test Procedure and make sure that works, a test can be repeatable and reproducible before we set a standard. So that companies can see if you can test a product. Its very manufactures spend an enormous amount of resources on compliance to these standards. The testing is very complicated. These products are more sophisticated than they used to be, so you want to get that right. You dont want to mess that up. And whats happened is the process has become con flate and its very difficult conflated and its very difficul
Around the clock. Whenever they have fuel its is around the clock with 95 reliability. One of plant goes out the next day all around the country the thing that gets tuned up as a fossil fuel power plant. It is a swing fuel. Calculations i have done unfortunately indicate that in order to replace that baseload amount of supply you really have to come up with orders of magnitude more investment in Renewable Energy just to replace it. Renewable wind might have a 40 as opposed to 95 output for every piece you put in the ground. Solar is close to less than 20 . You have to have four times 26 times to eight times investment in those in order to replace something that is going offline. We need to make forward progress so i would like to see us building a transition on these reactors that enables forward progress that we have already seen on cost productions and renewables. Replacing on that scale is hard in terms of backsliding. Thank you so much for the honor. Anthony rogers right. Wright, t
So its been a big week, and theres nowhere id rather end it than right here with the lanned parenthood action fund. Im grateful for the entire planned parenthood family. You made this campaign your own , whether you knocked on doors in iowa or rallied in california, this victory belongs to all of you. And it belongs to the 1,000 young activists who came together in pittsburgh last month to get organized. Cheers and applause] secretary clinton it belongs to the staff, the donors and to the providers, providers like dr. Dermish in texas who called out donald trump when he said women should be punished for having abortions and the open letter she wrote defending her patients rights to make their own Health Care Decisions should be required reading for every politician in america. And i am deeply conscious of the reality that this victory belongs to generations of brave women and men who fought for the radical idea that women should determine our own lives and futures, and it belongs to th
So because of my experience with these patients, ive been working for years to actually help raise money for awareness for muscle disease, treatment for the disease. I served as a local host in wyoming for the multiple sclerosis Associations Annual labor day telethon. Every year i was amazed at the dedication and the generosity of people around the country who were calling in pledges at the pledge center at the love centers in caspar, wyoming. People would call in, wed always raise over 100,000. People were very committed to finding a cure for the muscle disease, to send young people with the disease to summer camp where they found a level of freedom and friendship that they didnt often find throughout the rest of the year. It was a great time for the young people with the disease and it gave their parents a rest as well. I think many of us in this body remember jerry lewis hosting this jerry lewis labor day telethon as it was called for more than 40 years. He would always end the tele
Their last debate before mondays iowa caucuses, but the focus who wont be taking part. Donald trump locked in an explosive feud with fox news still says he is still boycotting the debate. Marlie hall is in des moines and has our report. Reporter with the debate just hours away, donald trump is still refusing to attend. A point he made clear wednesday night in an appearance on fox news. Will you just consider . I want you to consider, all right . Think about it. Bill, this is much tougher being with you, because, frankly, youre smarter. This is much tougher than doing the debate with megyn kelly, believe me. I got a very unfair question from somebody but we dont even talk about that. Reporter at an event in South Carolina earlier, trump continued to take aim at the fox news host moderating the event. While in des moines, chief rival ted cruz, once again, challenged him oneonone. Im going to propose a venue. We already have it reserved. Reporter while his republican counterparts are on t
