Colyseus. According to Lucid Sight, it will be taking over the Colyseus brand, GitHub, and all social and support channels, and Colyseus creator Endel Dreyer will join its team. Lucid Sight said over 3,000 developers are active in the Colyseus community channels. As part of the deal, Lucid Sight said it will launch a new, cloud-hosted version of Colyseus which is called Colyseus Arena. Lucid Sight was founded by Randy Saaf, Octavio Herrera, and Fazri Zubair. Saaf previously co-founded Jirbo with Jonathan Zweig, which later became ad network AdColony.

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today, independent game studio Lucid Sight, developer of games such as MLB Champions and CSC featuring Star Trek, has acquired the popular open-source multiplayer game engine Colyseus. Lucid Sight will be taking over the Colyseus brand, GitHub, and all social and support channels. Lucid Sight will also be launching a cloud-hosted service to further support Colyseus developers. The creator of Colyseus, Endel Dreyer, will be joining the Lucid Sight team.

Colyseus is an open-source multiplayer game engine, currently utilized by games like Raft Wars, Tosios, Party Toons, and more, including some of Lucid Sight s own games.
Lucid Sight will be launching a cloud service to further support developers who are using Colyseus, and the service s creator Endel Dreyer will be joining the Lucid Sight team.
The cloud-hosted version, called Colyseus Arena, will launch later this month.
Lucid Sight CEO Randy Saaf said in a press release that Colyseus Arena will be the first multiplayer server engine that can be deployed without a networking engineer, and that he wants the service to democratize multiplayer game server engines.
