PETALING JAYA: The share price of Dagang Nexchange Bhd (Dnex) lost a third of its value, plunging from 75.5 sen to close at 50.5 sen yesterday after news that its wholly-owned subsidiary Dnex Semiconductor Sdn Bhd has commenced arbitration proceedings against Hong Kong-based Mimastronics Technologies Company Ltd (Mimas).
Dagang NeXchange Bhd has teamed up with a unit of Taiwanese giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd (better known as Foxconn) to build and operate a wafer fabrication plant in Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Silterra Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the nation’s largest chipmaker, is presently fully utilising its production capacity and is in a situation of turning away orders from customers, says Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) group managing director Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
“There’s a shortage of chips everywhere. Our production capacity is running full blown. The outlook for the capacity utilisation will continue to be steady at least for about a year to a year-and-a-half,” said Syed Zainal during a virtual media briefing after the launch of DNeX’s digital trade and logistics platform SealNet.

Foxconn Technology Group is in talks to buy a stake in Malaysian technology firm Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX), according to people familiar with the matter, after losing to it in bidding for a semiconductor company.
