A two car crash on the Bend Parkway sent two young children to the hospital and closed the Parkway for several hours Wednesday. According to Bend Police, shortly after 8:30 a.m., multiple callers reported a serious motor vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the Bend Parkway, just north of the Revere Ave exit. There were two vehicles involved, including one with two young children who were both injured and transported to St. Charles Bend. The drivers of both vehicles were also being treated at the hospital. Southbound lanes of the Bend Parkway were closed for several hours between Empire Ave and the southbound on-ramp at Revere Ave. The Bend Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team was activated. The Bend Police Department was also assisted by members from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, the Oregon State Police, Bend Fire & Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
