KUCHING: Sarawak reported a new record high of 353 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Feb 24), the first time the daily figure has breached 300 since the start of the pandemic.

The Klang Valley made up more than half of the new cases today.
Other states with more than 100 new cases include Sarawak, Johor, Perak, Penang and Sabah.
On the flip side, the number of active cases continued to decline as recoveries outpaced new cases.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reported a total of 3,414 new recoveries today.
The number of patients in the intensive care unit is also at the lowest level since Jan 14.
Active cases: 32,076
Another six people died from Covid-19, bringing the death toll to 1,062.
KUCHING: Two new Covid-19 clusters were detected in Sarawak on Monday (Feb 22).
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said the Emperoh Jambu cluster was linked to a funeral at Kampung Emperoh Jambu in Padawan here from Feb 3 to 5 and had 60 confirmed cases to date.
The village will be placed under an enhanced movement control order for 14 days from Feb 23 to March 8. The index case is a 45-year-old man who tested positive on Feb 16 while undergoing screening before starting work. He is believed to have infected his family members, who likely spread it to other contacts when attending the funeral of the index case s wife, he said at the state disaster management committee s briefing here on Monday (Feb 22).
