The Hall County business community gathered Thursday night at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s 115th annual gala.

Stanley Z. Isaacson, a doctor of dental sugery, 79, passed away peacefully in his home April 12, 2021. April 29, 2021, 4:13 pm Edit
Stanley Z. Isaacson, a doctor of dental sugery, 79, passed away peacefully in his home April 12, 2021. Born in Atlanta, he attended Grady High School and Emory University. He was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity as an undergraduate, and then went to Emory Dental School, where he was a member Alpha Omega dental fraternity.
Following dental school, he practiced dentistry in Atlanta for three decades and also volunteered at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force Reserves.
“This series will be a deep dive into Atlanta’s rich Jewish history lead by experts in their respective topics,” said Jeremy Katz, director of the Ida Pearle and Joseph Cuba Archives for Southern Jewish History at The Breman Museum.
The series will launch with a talk by Steve Oney, author of “And the Dead Shall Rise: The Murder of Mary Phagan and the Lynching of Leo Frank.” The series will span a wide range of topics, including the history of Jewish women’s activism in Atlanta and anti-Semitism’s role in the Emory Dental School scandal.
Jeremy Katz and Steve Oney joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes for a conversation about the upcoming series and the legacy of Jewish Americans here in Atlanta.
