The Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), has said drug barons and traffickers in the country would smoked out of their hiding places and make made to face the wrath of the law.
Marwa said this in a statement on Sunday while reacting to the arrest of seven drug barons operating four large warehouses in Ukpuje forest, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Recall that a total of 16,344 bags of cannabis and seeds, weighing 233, 778 kilogrammes and valued at N1.4bn were seized in addition to two pump-action and one double-barrel guns.

Seven suspects were also arrested in connection with cannabis weighing 233,778 kilograms reportedly found in four warehouses.
While 2,249kg dried weeds were seized, cannabis weighing 231,529kg was destroyed on the farm.
A statement on Saturday by the state Commander of the agency, Buba Wakawa, noted that the seizure was the largest single concentration of cannabis discovered by the command.
Wakawa ascribed the success of the operation to the enabling environment created by the new Chief Executive of the Agency, Brigadier General Buba Marwa.

The Osun State Police Command has disclosed that two persons sustained gunshot wounds following the breakout of communal clash between Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities.
Both communities, which are located in Irepodun Local Government Area of the State, have been engaged in a long drawn land dispute.
DAILY POST reports that the crisis broke out on Saturday afternoon and as the news filtered into both neighbouring communities, youths were said to have mobilised themselves to the disputed area where two houses were said to have been vandalised.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the State police command, Yemisi Opalola, said two persons from Ilobu, Azeez Adamu and Abdullah Tairu were shot in the legs during the crisis.

According to reports, seven suspects were arrested in connection with cannabis weighing 233,778 kg found in four warehouses on Friday.
Also, 2,249kg dried weeds were seized while cannabis weighing 231,529kg was destroyed on the farm.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Sunday, disclosed that it uncovered a cannabis village in Owan West local government area of Edo state.
Addressing newsmen in Benin, Buba Wakawa, the NDLEA commander in Edo, said the command arrested seven drug barons operating four large warehouses in Ukpuje forest in Owan West.
According to the NDLEA commander, its agents stormed four warehouses accommodating a total of 16, 344 bags of cannabis and weeds, weighing 233, 778kg.
The cannabis, whose street value was estimated to cost N1.4bn, was seized in addition to two pump-action and one double-barrel rifles.
The suspects arrested were identified as Emmanuel Oki, 62, who is the chairman of the vigilante group in Ukpuje; Odi Sabato, 42, and Bright Inemi Edegbe, 53.
