Eugene Mthethwa blames drunk driving for Mjokesâ death

Johannesburg - Just a week after his single release, celebrated kwaito star Mjokes has died.
The star, real name Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane, performed for the last time at popular Soweto hangout Disoufeng.
His stable Kalawa Jazmee Records released a statement on Sunday confirming the death of the Trompies member.
âIt is with great sadness to announce that our co-director Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane popularly known as Mjokes passed away in a car accident. The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday after their performance with Trompies. Further information regarding his memorial service and funeral will be given during the week.â

When DJ Ganyani Tshabalala waved to fellow artist Mojalefa “Mjokes” Matsane on Saturday while playing at Disoufeng Pub and Restaurant in Meadowlands, Soweto, little did he know that it would be the last time he would see him alive.
Tshabalala, who shared the stage with legendary Kwaito group Trompies that Matsane belonged to, thought he would get a chance to talk to him later. However, it was not to be because he learnt hours later that Matsane died in an accident in the early hours of yesterday. ..
